Cloudy Learning Experience Intro

HP, one of the gold sponsors of 2012 SCALE10x, was signing people up for a free HP Cloud Service beta account. Believing that actually playing in the cloud was great way to learn how to work in the cloud, I jumped at this fabulous, and cheap, opportunity to learn. And to help me remember, I’ll be self-documenting the learning process in these pages.

Goals are to learn how to securely setup and maintain cloud instances and to create the template scripts to be used to recreate additional instances. An additional goal, which will depend in large part on how long the HP Cloud Service beta account is free, would be to learn how to replicate data across servers and investigate load balancing. Feels ambitious.
