I've always been a bit shocked at some of the bile that passes as
acceptable communication in some communities ... and I am a far cry
from being thin skinned. One of the recurring themes at the SCALE
Women in OpenSource conference was that an overall hostile tone in
community comunication is a barrier to more women/newcomers
when choosing to, or not to, participate.
