Sorry to hear that. Hope things pick up from this point on.

There is a Dona Rosa at California and Raymond - and lots of other
places north of that station - including the pub the UUASC and perl
folks sometimes go to. Can't think of the name - very noisy, good beer
and good food (as long as you like English staples like fish and
chips; they used to do a great but hot curry, but don't know if they
still do).  But Old Town on a Friday night is crowded. If you want
something like Acapulco, there is an El Torito on the same corner as
the end of the Gold Line - at Foothill and Sierra Madre Villa for
those not arriving by train.
