OY, SCALE slipped off my radar and we should confirm our SCALE 6x
plans. There will be a slew of SCALE related emails and the next few
days. (But while SCALE was in the background, I did manage to conquer
the first section of the feared calculus. I did very well ... and now
on to integrals :)
Are we still committed to demonstrating Alice? Linux.com had an

I want to make sure that we as a group are interested in presenting
this at SCALE as the next quarter will demand a lot of time and I'm
not sure that I would have enough free time to putting together
presentations, explanations, and getting the demo up without support.

tutorial. It is java based program so be sure to have a java
environment installed.

This year the SCALE organizers are requesting that local user groups
put together an official proposal, so any feedback, questions, issues,
etc. relating to a LinuxChixLA booth presence need to be addressed
really quickly.
