Hi there everyone,
This is regarding the problem I posted recently about K/Ubuntu and
Madwifi.  It came to my attention (read: someone wrote to let me know)
that the problem got posted to the archives but for some reason the
solution did not.  So for the convenience of any Googlers or new
Linuxchix out there, here goes:
In short, the K/Ubuntu kernel is by default compiled with gcc 3.4, but
the version of gcc that is installed with it by default is 4.0.  Go
figure!  I posted some detailed instructions on my blog at
http://msphitt.wordpress.com/2006/02/19/madwifi-on-ubuntu/ in an effort
to simplify the process of fixing this.
Give this a go and it should help.  If you use it would you please let
me know if it works for you?  I'd like to know if I've left any steps
out or if anything is unclear.
