Once you get Debian installed (which is the worst part, make sure
you KNOW yer hardware first :), I can help. :)

I haven't used Slackware since 3.5. It was the first distro I played with
because it was the only distro back in 1992, or 1991. I forget :)
As a security person, I really like Debian. It makes upgrading (the biggest
problem with the other distros) very simple. Also, they're very, very quick
at releasing patched binaries and code, FWIW.
