Document Systems Inc. is stable, profitable, and has been in existence for 17 
years; it's a small company - around 65 people, but has clients like bank of 
america and washington mutual. The company is located in Carson, CA. and 
two software applications, DocMagic, and LoanMagic. The former allows a
real estate agent to automate the filling out of forms related to the
purchase or sale of realestate property, and the second is a POS app for
mortgage brokers.

I can't speak to salary, but it should be based on experience.  Experience 
should be somewhere around five years. From a day-to-day standpoint, it's 
mainting the current servers, making sure that there is as little downtime as 
possible (downtime directly correlates to money) on several different server 
classes. The Main OS is RedHat Linux, primarally ES3, but there are a few 
FreeBSD boxes in the mix. The majority of systems are ML/DL class servers 
from compaq.  We have two sites: texas and carson. Carson is a tri-homed 
network with around 7mb of bandwidth, using bgp routing, on cisco routers & 
pix firewalls. It's pretty mellow environment: get in anywhere up to 10:30am, 
there are seven other engineers on site, primarally developers. We've got a 
65" plasma in the conference room, and usually spend an hour or so per day 
playing halo2. The environment could probably be documented better, but 
that's one of the things I'll be working on up until I leave, and I'll be 
available via email for questions & support for six months or so after I 
leave.
