[Chixla] Open Linux position in Los Angeles

Dear LinuxChix,

I am a technical recruiter and am working with a company in the South
Bay. They are looking for a Linux Systems administrator and I wanted to
see if any of you would be interested. This is a dotcom type of
environment, but is backed by a large stable company. The salary is in
the 75-90k range depending on experience. Please let me know if you have

What the candidate needs to do to be successful in this job.  

- Manage Debian Linux based servers.

- Install software/hardware and patch OS systems.

- Upgrade and install our software on our machines and our clients'
computers.

- Manage software release and roll out schedules.

 

Describe what specific or unique skills the candidate needs to do this
job.

- Strong working knowledge of the Linux operating system.

- Basic scripting programming abilities (Perl, Bash, Python).

- Experience working with PostgreSQL, Oracle, DNS, SMTP, and NFS.
